Previously on MPD, Izaya disappeared from Shizuo's life for three whole months before the blonde heard from the informant again. Yet what he heard over the message wasn't exactly comforting. And as he realized he loved the man, he watched Izaya slowly plummet to the ground.

MPD: MultiPersonality Disorder
Chapter Fourteen: My Death For Your Sake

It was just any other day when Izaya woke up. He stared at his ceiling for a bit, thinking of his object of obsession, and washed up before he went on the internet to troll his dear humans. Red eyes glanced at the screen to the window outside, and the ravenette thought it wouldn't hurt to take a stroll outside.

Shiki was being meddlesome though, wanting him to go to Ikebukuro for a transaction. But the informant had to go, otherwise he would lose his highest paying client and practically half his earnings.

So he dressed in his usual fur coat, skipping along Shinjuku's streets toward his favorite little city. The chattering wasn't unordinary, but Izaya's complete disregard of any sentence or conversation was a bit unnerving. As much as the red eyed man tried to concentrate, he found himself wondering if he would run into Shizuo.

In fact, he wouldn't be surprised if the blonde suddenly found him – he could smell him. Izaya smiled bitterly, swerving into the designated alley for the tradeoff.

After the little transaction, Izaya decided to just walk around in the night life of Ikebukuro. Of course, he wasn't staying there just to run into his love. No, of course not.

Sighing a bit, the man looked at a billboard. It was advertising some kind of movie. There was a girl with her arms spread, falling off of a building. The words, "I would die for you, my love," made the informant think.

'I would die for you? If you love that person, why would you die for them? You would want to stay by that person's side, of course…' yet the words were swished around the man's mind. 'But Shizu-chan doesn't love me back… he doesn't want to stay by my side…'

"He wants me dead…" suddenly, Izaya looked up at the sky. It was a little past midnight, surely the bodyguard would be asleep by now. Running as fast as he could, Izaya arrived at Shizuo's place, sneaking in through the window quietly. He looked around at the slightly messy place. A few plates in the sink needed a good scrubbing, and Shizuo's clothes for the day were just thrown on the couch.

It made the red eyed man want to laugh, but his mood was too serious. He walked into the bedroom, easily finding the blonde asleep. He took the phone from the man's bedside table, taking out his own and calling Shizuo, pressing the 'ignore' button.

"…You see, Shizu-chan… what happened three months ago, I must apologize for it," Izaya laughed a bit. "It was foolish of me. Haha, it's stupid, apologizing to you like this after all I've done…" the man felt tears prick at his eyes. His gaze landed on the calmly sleeping blonde. "But hey, don't worry about it. I'll get my punishment. You'll see, Shizu-chan… I'll make you watch it. Because that's what you want, right?" his voice cracked and he mentally cursed as he sat on the edge of the bed. "You want to see me dead, right? You'll see that, Shizu-chan. Anything for you. Anything for you," he sifted his hands through bleached blonde locks. "So wait just a little bit more, it'll be all over the news. I'll be dead by tomorrow, maybe even tonight. Bye, Shizu-chan," he kissed the man's forehead, smiling lightly. "It was nice knowing you."

An unsettling look flashed across the blonde's face before it disappeared. Izaya chuckled a bit, closing the phone and putting it back on the dresser. He walked out of the building, giving one last look at the place illuminated by the moonlight. A grim smile was plastered on his face as he pulled his hood over his head and walked home.

Tomorrow. It would be tomorrow. Red eyes stared at the floor, emotionless as he headed back to his place in Shinjuku. "You'll see me die tomorrow, Shizu-chan."

.
The wind was blowing his hair all over the place, but he hardly cared. He stared out at the rising sun, warm rays beaming on his face.

Out of the corner of his eyes, Izaya saw a mop of blonde hair. He turned, seeing Shizuo. A smile. A short laugh. Another confession. "I love you."

And he fell.

The wind bit at his face, gravity pulling him down. He was falling to his death. He wouldn't have to worry about Shizuo hating him.

But the pain of the hard cement was oddly warm. His body wracked with pain, and… something was embracing him?

Izaya opened his eyes and saw Shizuo below him. "Sh-Shizu-chan?" he grasped the man's shirt, concern flashing through his eyes. "Hey, Shizu-chan?!"

"Gkk, s-stop yelling, damn flea…" the blonde winced, looking up at Izaya, eyes half lidded and clouded with exhaustion. "Get off, my side feels weird."

The ravenette clambered off of Shizuo, grasping his arm. "What the hell you brute?! What were you thinking?!"

"What were you thinking?! Goddamn idiotic flea, saying stuff like 'good bye' or whatever!" the bodyguard coughed, holding onto his stomach. "The hell were you trying to pull with a stunt like that?"

"But… you want me dead…"

"Don't die in front of me, stupid flea," Shizuo uttered, half glaring at the ravenette as he stood, dusting off his clothes. From the way he leaned his weight on one foot, Izaya supposed the man had a sprained ankle. "Now get the hell outta 'bukuro."

"Shizu-chan, that's…"

"Get out before I chase you out, damn flea," the blonde growled irately, trying to look as angry as he could.

Izaya hesitated and turned away from Shizuo. "Don't die in front of you. Got it," he murmured softly, running away from the monstrous brute.

Staring at Izaya's back, the bodyguard couldn't help but wonder why that tone of voice chilled his spine.

Far from Shizuo, later that night, Izaya sat on the edge of that building so many years ago. That high building he often went back to when he was a teenager. He placed his hands on the cement and looked up at the moon.

A full moon.

Same place, same setting, same goal. This place was where it all began, where it would all end. His first meeting with Shizuo took place here. "It's ironic, Shizu-chan, it's way too cliché. Like those movies you always see. Always so predictable. But hey, you can't read me like that, you don't know. You can't save me this time. Because you're not here. I promised I wouldn't die in front of you, and you're not here. So…"

Izaya tightened the white scarf around his throat, closing his eyes as he scooted off the edge.

Good bye Shizuo.
Repeated attempt. Odd, but hey, Izaya’s delusional right now. He’s fixated on killing himself because Shizuo ‘wants him dead’. Therefore I don’t think it’s too bad, right? ^^; warnings for the next few chapters, OOC. Please tell me what you think~
